"আমি দাউদকে সুলায়মানের মতো পুত্র দিলাম। সে ছিল উত্তম দাস ও সব সময় আমার ওপর নির্ভর করত। বিকেলে যখন তার সামনে সুশিক্ষিত দ্রুতগামী ঘোড়াদের উপস্থিত করা হল সে বলল,

১০১. সুরা ক্বাফ (৫০:৬)

বাংলা: "...তারা কি তাদের উপরের আকাশের দিকে তাকায় না, কিভাবে আমি তা বানিয়েছি এবং সাজিয়েছি। আর তাতে কোনো ফাটল নেই..."  

English: "...Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?" আরবি: "...أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ..."

০১. সুরা ইউসুফ (১২:৪৩)

বাংলা: "...আর বাদশাহ বলল, আমি স্বপ্নে দেখলাম সাতটি মোটাতাজা গাভী, তাদের খাচ্ছে সাতটি শীর্ণ গাভী। আর সাতটি সবুজ শীষ এবং অন্যগুলো শুকনো..." English: "...And the king said, 'Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry...'" আরবি: "...وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ إِنِّي أَرَىٰ سَبْعَ بَقَرَاتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَسَبْعَ سُنبُلَاتٍ خُضْرٍ وَأُخَرَ يَابِسَاتٍ..."

৫১. সুরা আম্বিয়া (২১:৬৯)

বাংলা: "...আমি বললাম, হে আগুন, তুমি ইবরাহিমের জন্য শীতল ও নিরাপদ হয়ে যাও..." English: "...We said, 'O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham.'" আরবি: "...قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ..."

ঋগ্বেদ, দশম মণ্ডল পঞ্চনবতি সূক্ত পঞ্চদশ ঋক।

উর্বশী বলিল, পুরুরবা মরো না, অদৃশ্য হইও না। নেকড়েরা তোমাকে খাইয়া ফেলুক না। নারীর সাথে স্থায়ী বন্ধুত্ব হয় না। নারীর হৃদয় শেয়ালের হৃদয়ের মতো।

English: Nay, do not die, Pururavas, nor vanish: let not the evil-omened wolves devour thee. With women there can be no lasting friendship: hearts of hyenas are the hearts of women.

पुरूरवो मा मृथा मा प्र पप्तो मा त्वा वृकासो अशिवास उ क्षन् ।

न वै स्त्रैणानि सख्यानि सन्ति सालावृकाणां हृदयान्येता ॥

বাংলা: ধন্য সে, যে তোমার শিশুগুলোকে ধরে পাথরে আছড়াইবে!

English: Psalm 137:9 - Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

২. গীতসংহিতা ৫৮:৯

বাংলা: কড়াইয়ে কাঁটাগাছের আগুন জ্বলার আগেই, কাঁচা হউক কি পাকা হউক, ঝড়ে তাহা উড়াইয়া লইয়া যাইবে।

English: Psalm 58:9 - Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns, whether green or dry, he will sweep them away.

৩. গীতসংহিতা ২২:১৬

বাংলা: কুকুরেরা আমাকে ঘিরিয়াছে; দুষ্টদের দল আমাকে বেড়িয়াছে; আমার হাত ও পা তাহারা বিদ্ধ করিয়াছে।

English: Psalm 22:16 - Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet.

৪. গীতসংহিতা ৬৯:২৩

বাংলা: তাহাদের চোখ অন্ধকার হউক, যেন তাহারা দেখিতে না পায়; তাহাদের কোমর সর্বদা কাঁপিতে থাকুক।

English: Psalm 69:23 - May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.

৫. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:৮-৯

বাংলা: তাহার আয়ু হ্রস্ব হউক; অন্যে তাহার পদ গ্রহণ করুক। তাহার সন্তানগণ পিতৃহীন হউক, ও তাহার স্ত্রী বিধবা হউক।

English: Psalm 109:8-9 - May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership. May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.

বাংলা: ধার্মিক আনন্দ করিবে, যখন সে প্রতিফল দেখিবে; সে দুষ্টের রক্তে আপনার চরণ ধৌত করিবে।

English: Psalm 58:10 - The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.

৭. গীতসংহিতা ৩৫:৫

বাংলা: তাহারা বাতাসে উড়িয়া যাওয়া ভূষির মত হউক, সদাপ্রভুর দূত তাহাদিগকে তাড়না করুক।

English: Psalm 35:5 - May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away.

৮. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১৮

বাংলা: সে অভিশাপকে কুর্তার মত পরিয়া থাকিত; জলের মত তাহার অন্তরে ও তৈলের মত তাহার অস্থিতে প্রবেশ করুক।

English: Psalm 109:18 - He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil.

৯. গীতসংহিতা ১৪১:৫

বাংলা: ধার্মিক আমাকে আঘাত করুক, ইহা আমার পক্ষে দয়া; সে আমাকে অনুযোগ করুক, ইহা আমার মস্তকের তৈলের ন্যায়।

English: Psalm 141:5 - Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness; let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.

১০. গীতসংহিতা ২২:৬

বাংলা: কিন্তু আমি কীট, মানুষ নই; লোকদের নিন্দা ও জাতির ঘৃণাস্পদ।

English: Psalm 22:6 - But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.

১১. গীতসংহিতা ৬৮:২৩

বাংলা: যেন তোমার পা শত্রুর রক্তে রঞ্জিত হয়, তোমার কুকুরদের জিহ্বা তাহাতে ডুবিতে পায়।

English: Psalm 68:23 - That your feet may wade in the blood of your foes, the tongues of your dogs have their share.

১২. গীতসংহিতা ৮৩:১৩-১৪

বাংলা: হে আমার ঈশ্বর, তাহাদিগকে ঘূর্ণিবায়ুর তুষের ন্যায় কর, বায়ুর সম্মুখে নরকটের ন্যায় কর।

English: Psalm 83:13-14 - Make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind.

১৩. গীতসংহিতা ৫৯:৬

বাংলা: সন্ধ্যাকালে তাহারা ফিরিয়া আসে, কুকুরের ন্যায় চিৎকার করে, ও নগরময় ঘুরিয়া বেড়ায়।

English: Psalm 59:6 - They return at evening, snarling like dogs and prowl about the city.

১৪. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:৬

বাংলা: তাহার উপরে দুষ্ট লোককে নিযুক্ত কর; শয়তান তাহার দক্ষিণ পার্শ্বে দাঁড়াক।

English: Psalm 109:6 - Appoint someone evil to oppose him; let an accuser stand at his right hand.

১৫. গীতসংহিতা ৫৫:১৫

বাংলা: মৃত্যু আসিয়া তাহাদিগকে হঠাৎ ধরুক; তাহারা জ্যান্ত অবস্থায় পাতালে নামুক।

English: Psalm 55:15 - Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the realm of the dead.

১৬. গীতসংহিতা ৬৯:২৮

বাংলা: তাহারা জীবন পুস্তক হইতে মুছিয়া যাক; ধার্মিকদের সহিত তাহাদের নাম লেখা না যাক।

English: Psalm 69:28 - May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.

১৭. গীতসংহিতা ৪০:১৪

বাংলা: আমার প্রাণসংহার চেষ্টাকারীরা একেবারে লজ্জিত ও হতাশ হউক; আমার অনিষ্টাভিলাষীরা পশ্চাতে হটুক ও অপমানিত হউক।

English: Psalm 40:14 - May all who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion.

১৮. গীতসংহিতা ৯৪:১

বাংলা: হে সদাপ্রভু, প্রতিশোধের ঈশ্বর; হে প্রতিশোধের ঈশ্বর, প্রকাশিত হও।

English: Psalm 94:1 - The LORD is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth.

১৯. গীতসংহিতা ৫:১০

বাংলা: হে ঈশ্বর, তাহাদিগকে দোষী কর; তাহারা আপন কুমন্ত্রণায় পড়ুক; তাহাদের অনেক পাপের জন্য তাহাদিগকে দূর করিয়া দাও।

English: Psalm 5:10 - Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall.

২০. গীতসংহিতা ৩৫:৪

বাংলা: আমার প্রাণসংহার চেষ্টাকারীরা লজ্জিত ও অপমানিত হউক; আমার অনিষ্ট চিন্তাকারীরা পশ্চাতে হটিয়া হতাশ হউক।

English: Psalm 35:4 - May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame.

২১. গীতসংহিতা ৩৫:৬

বাংলা: তাহাদের পথ অন্ধকার ও পিচ্ছিল হউক, সদাপ্রভুর দূত তাহাদিগকে তাড়না করুক।

English: Psalm 35:6 - May their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

২২. গীতসংহিতা ৩৫:৮

বাংলা: অকস্মাৎ বিনাশ তাহার উপরে আসুক; সে যে জাল গোপনে পাতিয়াছিল, তাহাতে সে আপনি পড়ুক।

English: Psalm 35:8 - May ruin overtake them by surprise.

২৩. গীতসংহিতা ৫৫:৯

বাংলা: হে প্রভু, তাহাদিগকে ধ্বংস কর, তাহাদের ভাষা বিভ্রান্ত কর; কারণ নগরের মধ্যে আমি উপদ্রব ও বিবাদ দেখিতেছি।

English: Psalm 55:9 - Confuse the wicked, O Lord, confound their speech.

২৪. গীতসংহিতা ৫৮:৬

বাংলা: হে ঈশ্বর, তাহাদের দাঁত তাহাদের মুখে ভাঙিয়া দাও; হে সদাপ্রভু, যুব সিংহদের দাঁত ভাঙিয়া ফেল।

English: Psalm 58:6 - Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions.

২৫. গীতসংহিতা ৫৮:৭

বাংলা: তাহারা বহমান জলের ন্যায় গলিয়া যাক; সে যখন তীর ছুঁড়ে, তখন তাহা ভোঁতা হউক।

English: Psalm 58:7 - Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short.

২৬. গীতসংহিতা ৫৮:৮

বাংলা: সে গলিয়া যাওয়া শামুকের ন্যায় হউক; গর্ভের অসম্পূর্ণ সন্তানের ন্যায় সে সূর্য দেখিতে না পাক।

English: Psalm 58:8 - May they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along, like a stillborn child that never sees the sun.

২৭. গীতসংহিতা ৫৯:১১

বাংলা: তাহাদিগকে একেবারে বিনাশ করিও না, পাছে আমার লোকেরা ভুলিয়া যায়; হে প্রভু, আমাদের ঢাল, তোমার পরাক্রমে তাহাদিগকে ছিন্নভিন্ন কর।

English: Psalm 59:11 - Do not kill them, or my people may forget; scatter them by your power.

২৮. গীতসংহিতা ৫৯:১৩

বাংলা: ক্রোধে বিনাশ কর, বিনাশ কর, যেন তাহারা না থাকে; যেন জানা যায় যে, ঈশ্বর যাকোবের মধ্যে শাসনকর্তা।

English: Psalm 59:13 - Consume them in your wrath, consume them till they are no more.

২৯. গীতসংহিতা ৬৯:২২

বাংলা: তাহাদের ভোজের টেবিল তাহাদের ফাঁদ হউক; যাহা মঙ্গলের জন্য, তাহাই তাহাদের গলার ফাঁস হউক।

English: Psalm 69:22 - May their table become a snare.

৩০. গীতসংহিতা ৬৯:২৪

বাংলা: তোমার ক্রোধাগ্নি তাহাদের উপরে ঢালিয়া দাও; তোমার প্রচণ্ড কোপ তাহাদিগকে ধরুক।

English: Psalm 69:24 - Pour out your wrath on them; let your fierce anger overtake them.

৩১. গীতসংহিতা ৬৯:২৫

বাংলা: তাহাদের বাসস্থান উৎসন্ন হউক; তাহাদের তাম্বুতে কেহ বাস না করুক।

English: Psalm 69:25 - May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.

৩২. গীতসংহিতা ৭০:২

বাংলা: যাহারা আমার প্রাণ অন্বেষণ করে, তাহারা লজ্জিত ও হতাশ হউক; যাহারা আমার অনিষ্ট চায়, তাহারা পশ্চাতে হটিয়া অপমানিত হউক।

English: Psalm 70:2 - May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion.

৩৩. গীতসংহিতা ৭১:১৩

বাংলা: আমার প্রাণের শত্রুরা লজ্জিত হউক, বিনষ্ট হউক; আমার অনিষ্টাভিলাষীরা নিন্দা ও অপমানে আচ্ছন্ন হউক।

English: Psalm 71:13 - May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.

৩৪. গীতসংহিতা ৮৩:৯

বাংলা: তুমি মিদিয়নের প্রতি যেরূপ করিয়াছিলে, তাহাদের প্রতিও সেইরূপ কর; সীষরা ও যাবীনের প্রতি যেরূপ করিয়াছিলে কিশোন নদীর কাছে।

English: Psalm 83:9 - Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon.৩৫. গীতসংহিতা ৮৩:১৫

বাংলা: তোমার ঝড়ে এইরূপে তাহাদিগকে তাড়না কর, তোমার ঘূর্ণিবায়ু দ্বারা তাহাদিগকে ভয়বিহ্বল কর।

English: Psalm 83:15 - Pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.

৩৬. গীতসংহিতা ৮৩:১৬

বাংলা: হে সদাপ্রভু, তাহাদের মুখ লজ্জায় পরিপূর্ণ কর, যেন লোকেরা তোমার নাম অন্বেষণ করে।

English: Psalm 83:16 - Cover their faces with shame, so that people will seek your name, LORD.

৩৭. গীতসংহিতা ৮৩:১৭

বাংলা: তাহারা চিরকাল লজ্জিত ও হতাশ হউক; তাহারা অপমানিত হইয়া বিনষ্ট হউক।

English: Psalm 83:17 - May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.

৩৮. গীতসংহিতা ৯৪:২

বাংলা: হে পৃথিবীর বিচারকর্তা, উঠ; গর্বীদের প্রতিফল দাও।

English: Psalm 94:2 - Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

৩৯. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১০

বাংলা: তাহার সন্তানগণ ভ্রমণ করিয়া ভিক্ষা করুক; তাহাদের ধ্বংসস্থান হইতে বাহির হইয়া ভিক্ষা করুক।

English: Psalm 109:10 - May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes.

৪০. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১২

বাংলা: তাহার প্রতি কেহ দয়া না করুক; তাহার অনাথ সন্তানদের প্রতি কেহ কৃপা না করুক।

English: Psalm 109:12 - May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children.

৪১. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১৩

বাংলা: তাহার বংশ উচ্ছিন্ন হউক; পরবর্তী পুরুষে তাহার নাম মুছিয়া যাক।

English: Psalm 109:13 - May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation.

৪২. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১৪

বাংলা: তাহার পিতৃগণের অপরাধ সদাপ্রভুর স্মরণে থাকুক; তাহার মাতার পাপ মুছিয়া না যাক।

English: Psalm 109:14 - May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD.

৪৩. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১৫

বাংলা: তাহা সর্বদা সদাপ্রভুর সম্মুখে থাকুক, যেন তিনি পৃথিবী হইতে তাহার স্মৃতি উচ্ছেদ করেন।

English: Psalm 109:15 - May their sins always remain before the LORD, that he may blot out their name from the earth.

৪৪. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:২০

বাংলা: আমার বিরুদ্ধবাদীদের জন্য সদাপ্রভুর হইতে ইহাই প্রতিফল হউক, যাহারা আমার প্রাণের বিরুদ্ধে কুৎসা রটায়।

English: Psalm 109:20 - May this be the LORD’s payment to my accusers.

৪৫. গীতসংহিতা ১২৯:৫

বাংলা: যাহারা সিয়োনকে ঘৃণা করে, তাহারা সকলে লজ্জিত হইয়া পশ্চাতে ফিরুক।

English: Psalm 129:5 - May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.

৪৬. গীতসংহিতা ১২৯:৬

বাংলা: তাহারা ছাদের ঘাসের ন্যায় হউক, যাহা বাড়িবার আগেই শুকাইয়া যায়।

English: Psalm 129:6 - May they be like grass on the roof, which withers before it can grow.

৪৭. গীতসংহিতা ১৪০:১০

বাংলা: তাহাদের উপরে জ্বলন্ত অঙ্গার বর্ষিত হউক; তাহারা আগুনে ও গর্তে নিক্ষিপ্ত হউক, যেন আর উঠিতে না পারে।

English: Psalm 140:10 - May burning coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire.

৪৮. গীতসংহিতা ১৪৪:৬

বাংলা: বিদ্যুৎ চমকাইয়া তাহাদিগকে ছিন্নভিন্ন কর; তোমার বাণ ছুঁড়িয়া তাহাদিগকে তাড়াইয়া দাও।

English: Psalm 144:6 - Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot your arrows and rout them.

৪৯. গীতসংহিতা ১০:১৫

বাংলা: দুষ্টের বাহু ভাঙিয়া ফেল; মন্দ লোকের দোষ অনুসন্ধান করিয়া তাহা বাহির কর।

English: Psalm 10:15 - Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness.

৫০. গীতসংহিতা ১৭:১৩

বাংলা: হে সদাপ্রভু, উঠ, তাহাদের মুখোমুখি হও, তাহাদিগকে নত কর; তোমার তরবারি দ্বারা আমাকে দুষ্টদের হাত হইতে উদ্ধার কর।

English: Psalm 17:13 - Rise up, LORD, confront them, bring them down.

৫১. গীতসংহিতা ৭৯:৬

বাংলা: যে জাতিসকল তোমাকে জানে না ও তোমার নামে ডাকে না, তাহাদের উপরে তোমার ক্রোধ ঢালিয়া দাও।

English: Psalm 79:6 - Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you.

৫২. গীতসংহিতা ১৩৯:১৯

বাংলা: হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি দুষ্টকে বিনাশ কর; হে রক্তপিপাসু লোকেরা, আমার নিকট হইতে সরিয়া যাও।

English: Psalm 139:19 - If only you, God, would slay the wicked!

৫৩. গীতসংহিতা ১০৯:১৭

বাংলা: সে অভিশাপ ভালবাসিত, তাহা তাহার উপরে আসুক; সে আশীর্বাদে সন্তুষ্ট ছিল না, তাহা তাহা হইতে দূরে থাকুক।

English: Psalm 109:17 - He loved to pronounce a curse—may it come back on him.

৫৪. গীতসংহিতা ৫৫:২৩

বাংলা: হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি তাহাদিগকে গর্তে নামাইয়া দাও; রক্তপিপাসু ও ছলনাকারীরা তাহাদের আয়ুর অর্ধেকেও পৌঁছিবে না।

English: Psalm 55:23 - But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay.

৫৫. গীতসংহিতা ৬৮:২১

বাংলা: ঈশ্বর নিশ্চয়ই তাঁহার শত্রুদের মস্তক চূর্ণ করিবেন।

English: Psalm 68:21 - Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies.

৫৬. গীতসংহিতা ৯:১৭

বাংলা: দুষ্টেরা পাতালে ফিরিয়া যাইবে, ঈশ্বরকে বিস্মৃত সকল জাতি।

English: Psalm 9:17 - The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God.

বাংলা: দুষ্ট লোক অহংকারে দরিদ্রকে তাড়না করে।

English: Psalm 10:2 - In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak.

বাংলা: প্রভু দুষ্টের হাস্য করেন, কারণ তিনি দেখেন যে, তাহার দিন আসিতেছে।

English: Psalm 37:13 - But the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
